Frequently asked questions

Due the amount of emails I am receiving , I am not able to answer all questions individually , I have therefore decided to answer the most common ones of them here :

Are you a company ?
No , I am not a company . I am a private person with a private website www.dianibeach.co.uk

Will there be a contract ?
Of course there will be a contract to sign . In legal matters this will be a small agreement between two private individuals. That means you will NOT have rights like employees in a tradional company like pension, annual leave, sick leave, etc . Unfortunately it still means for you that you have to pay taxes to the Kenyan Tax Revenue if you monthly income reaches a certain level . But this is your responsibility , not mine ...

Do you have a office in Kenya ?
No , I do not have a office in Kenya . I am working and residing in the United Kingdom.Communication will be mainly via email . This is an internet based job .

Can I really make one Million Kenyan Shilling per year ?
Yes , you can . But before you jumb around and celebrate : it will require at least 2 years of very hard work before you reach that level . ( hard work = ca 10 hours per day of efficient writing and marketing) . More realistic is , as a beginner, that you will have about 10000 - 20000 per month the first few months till you are fully in the project .

How will I get paid ?
I have applied for an current Barclays account in Nairobi , so you will be paid with a monthly Barclays cheque . For now the payment will be via Western Union .

How to clients pay ?
Clients can contact me directly . In the future they will be able to pay their advertisement fees to my Barclays account in Nairobi . For now , I will discuss with the client to find the best mode of payment for him . Bigger companies have often branches or accounts in the UK , smaller companies or one man entrepreneurs have often friends in the UK. So far , we have always found a suitable solution.

What are the advertisement costs for clients ?
There is an introduction rate of only KSh 1800 per year ( 150 per month ) . This is a very cheap and competetive rate for internet advertisement and customers will have a whole website for themselves . I am just in the process constructing a website for Gamewatchers Safaris,my latest customer : www.dianibeach.co.uk/gamewatchers.htm

How do I earn a commission ?
The only thing you have to do : show potential clients and customers www.dianibeach.co.uk and consult them to advertise with us . Tell them to contact(email) me and make sure they confirm your name . Leave the rest to me , if it comes to an advertisement, 50% commission are yours .

What about the editor job ?
That is different, there is no commission involved . You write about a topic related to Kenya and you get paid per page . One page is equivalent to ca 1000 words . There is a rating system and you get about 100 - 1000 KSh per page . You normaly deliver your article or review via email. Once I have approved and published it at www.dianibeach.co.uk , you get paid .

What is a topic ?
You write about something , which is within your private or professional interest . It also needs to be interesting for visitor and readers of www.dianibeach.co.uk
Example : Maybe you live in Nairobi and your choosen topic are hotels. Now you could write a review of this hotel, so that tourists and guests have an impression of that hotel(note : that is not supposed to be an advertisement ) . So,if the food is bad or expensive , you have to write the food is bad and expensive. How is the service ? How are the rooms ? Is your car safe there? etc I hope you get my point ...

Can I work part time ?
Of course you can . Example : You like music and maybe you are a member of a band or a DJ somewhere . Then you could write about nightclubs, music scene, etc in Kenya .
